ARCOLA EAST PRESCHOOL
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Arcola East Preschool is operated by the Arcola East Community Association. The preschool requires the cooperation of the parents to ensure a valuable learning experience for the children.
CLASSES:
Three-Day Classes: A -- Mon, Wed. and Fri. - 9:00 - 11:30
Two-Day Classes: B -- Mon. Wed. - 12:45 - 3:15
C -- Tues. and Thurs. - 9:00 - 11:30
D -- Tues. and Thurs. - 12:45 - 3:15
SAMPLE DAY:
9:00 – 9:15/12:45 – 1:00 Free play
9:15 – 9:30/1:00 – 1:15 Circle time – show and tell for leaders of the day, calendar, verses/songs/finger plays
9:30 – 10:00/1:15 – 1:45 The class is divided in half. One group has free play in the classroom, including the choice of an art activity, while the second group has access to an indoor gross motor area.
10:00 – 10:30/1:45 – 2:15 Snack followed by books and puzzles.
10:30 – 11:00/2:15 – 2:45 The class is divided again and does the other half of our programming (gym or classroom/art)
11:10 – 11:30/2:55 – 3:15 Circle Time - group songs, verses, finger plays, and stories
REQUIREMENTS:
Children must be three years of age by November 1, of the current year to enter the program in September and must be out of diapers with consistent bowel and bladder control to enroll in preschool.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
An integral part of the Arcola East Preschool program is the parent participation in duty days. The children look forward to having their parents participate in the program, and this also allows us to keep the fees down. The time involvement is approximately once a month in a three-day program and once every six weeks in a two-day program. Each day we have two parent helpers with the class, one teacher and one parent helper with each group.
ENROLMENT AND FEES:
The school term will begin in September and run until the end of May.
The registration fee of $20.00 will ensure your child's enrollment in the preschool. The fees are payable in postdated bi-monthly installments.
The fees for the 2011 - 2012 school year are $68.00 per month for the two-day program and $90.00 per month for the three-day program.
As the program is run by the Arcola East Community Association, membership in the association is required. The cost for this is $5.00 per year.
Registration for the upcoming year starts February 29th 2012 for alumni and March 7th 2012 from 7:00-8:00 at the preschool for open registration.
