We have a variety of area centers for the children and are continuously changing our toys and equipment to keep our classroom fun and engaging. We have a sensory table which is changed out a few times throughout the year and may be filled with wheat, sand & rocks, packing chips, colored rice and much more. The water table has also held snow for the children to enjoy when the weather is too cold to go outside or colored ice cubes to scoop up.
Our dress up area has many princess dresses as well as fire fighters, EMS, mechanic, and astronaut. Puzzles, matching and stacking games, Duplo, Lego and coloring are accessible throughout the day. We have both large and small blocks for building with, a quiet reading corner with colorful books that are changed out very few weeks and of course playdough which the parents take turns making for us.

Upstairs we have access to a gym area which is equipped with two climbing structures, balls, scoops, scooters, tunnels, more building blocks, a bean bag toss, a parachute and a balance beam.
We have several special days throughout the year. We celebrate Halloween, Valentines, St. Patrick's Day and Easter with treats that the parents volunteer to bring in for a special snack. Birthdays are also celebrated with a special treat brought by the birthday children. Each year we do a small Christmas concert which parents and extended family are invited to watch and we end the year with a family fun day and field trip. We have silly days like hat day, pj day, Dr. Suess day or polka dot day and we introduced the children to various cultures by celebrating Cinco de Mayo, Chinese New Year, and Mardie Gras amoung others.
Once a month we have a popcorn and cartoon day. Parents volunteer to bring in popcorn and the children watch a 20 min cartoon, our favorites include Thomas the Train, Franklin, and The Backyardigans.
We have outside play once a month depending on the weather. We use the grass space in the front of the building and toys such as sidewalk chalk, bubbles, soccer ball and nets, spray bottles of colored water, or we walk to the back of the schools and use the slides and climbing equipment.
We plan for one or two field trips over the course of our year. In the past we have gone to the Royal Sask Museum, the Science center, and the hay bale maze at a local garden center. We have also had visits to our school by a member of the Regina Police Service K9 Unit who introduced us to his friendly partner, as well as EMS and the Fire Department who gave us tours of their trucks.
