Please print off this page as your Application for the Arcola East Community Association Scholarship. The AECA is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring one (1) $1000.00 post-secondary scholarship for the year 2007. This scholarship highlights the valuable contribution young people provide through their volunteer community involvement. It is intended to assist the recipient financially to achieve their post-secondary educational goals. The AECA will pay the approved amount to the successful candidate upon receipt of proof that he/she has enrolled in a post-secondary institute in the year following graduation from high school. Scholarship criteria includes.... 1. A letter of introduction including career and academic objectives as well as description of other interests or involvements, other than volunteer work. 2. History of volunteer involvement in detail. * This section is very important and should include duties and length of service for each volunteer activity.* 3. Resident in the area served by the AECA. 4. Membership in the AECA in the year in which your application is made. 5. Commitment to attend a post-secondary institution in the year following graduation. A letter of commitment to post-secondary institution on from high school is required. 6. Achievement of an average of at least 65% in your Grade 12 year (as evidenced in mid-term and/or final Grade 12 marks. A transcript is required.) 7. 3 letters of reference. Your application should include your name, address, telephone number, three (3) letters of reference, and any other information that you wish to supply that will attest to your qualifications regarding the above criteria.
